Greetings, Rogers Elementary Staff and Families:

Welcome back to the 2026-2027 School Year!  I hope you had a restful and healthy summer, with the opportunity to enjoy time with family and friends. As we prepare to return to what promises to be an amazing school year, we will focus on the many expectations and opportunities that will enable us to educate our students. In addition, Rogers Elementary will temporarily be located this year at the rear of Herrington Elementary School, located at 541 Bay St., Pontiac, MI 48342. Despite our location, we will continue to empower and engage with ideas that surfaced last school year or came about this summer. Together, we remain committed to giving our students 100% of our time, talent, and dedication while ensuring they feel successful, safe, respected, and heard throughout this school year 

Our vision, along with the Pontiac School District's focus, will continue to center on key priorities: academics, attendance, culture and climate.

To support these priorities, we will:

  • Participate in a school Action Team as part of our Culture and Climate initiative.
  • Continue implementing Wit & Wisdom and Everyday Math to improve student achievement.
  • Monitor student learning through classroom walkthroughs and ongoing instructional support.
  • Strengthen collaboration through our Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).

The staff's first official day back will be Thursday, August 27, 2026. If you would like to come in before then to prepare your classroom, you are welcome to do so. Please check with me in advance so arrangements can be made. We will also have a joint staff meeting with Herrington Elementary that morning; the meeting time will be announced soon.

Staff, I am looking forward to an amazing school year filled with high expectations and meaningful opportunities for growth. I believe each of you will continue to demonstrate your commitment to academic excellence while helping create a safe, healthy, and supportive learning environment for every student.
Enjoy the remaining days of summer. I look forward to welcoming you back for an exciting 2026–2027 school year.
